Freeform Flexbits - All these USA manufactured flexbits have an aggressive and durable high speed steel cutting head, and a wire pull hole at the chuck end. This tip is designed cut through both wood and metal. The 3/16" flexible shaft is most often requested on lengths over 24" for bit manipulation and fishing wire through walls.
The BLACK SHAFT SERIES has a 118° standard point high speed steel bit tip, with an aggressive fast spiral design and a "wire pull hole at the chuck end only."
The "WH" BLUE SHAFT SERIES has a 118° split point high speed steel bit tip, with a slow spiral design for additional strength and a "wire pull hole in the bit end and the shaft end." Made with "metal cutting" grade high speed steel, this bit is not to be confused with softer (high carbon steel) bits with a pull hole. The tooling required to put a wire pull hole on the bit tip of this particular grade of steel is a complex, labor intensive process.
NOTE: The manufacturer of these blue-shaft WH Series Flexible High Speed Drill Bits is currently having a temporary shortage of the BIT TIPS with a WIRE PULL HOLE. The manufacturer says it may be Sept/October until they will have new inventory. Feel free to order the last of what is available, as we still have some sizes in stock (see below). Until the WH Series are again available, we suggest the standard black-shaft series American-Flex with the Hole in the back end as a temporary replacement to receive the same drilling performance and hardened steel/wood cutting bit tip.
