Type "B" Screw Tip Optibits - This style is basically the Type "C" style bit with the addition of a screw tip. The advantage to this style is it will start drilling precisely where it is planted (when drilling between walls this can be very helpful). Unlike the Type "A" auger style, Type "B" can be sharpened into a useable point even if the screw tip eventually breaks off. All the Optibits listed on this page have a 3/16" flexible shaft, 3 precision ground flats (prevents slippage), and 2 wire pull holes (one at each end). The shaft is bonded up into the bit tip for additional strength. Designed with slow back-tapers for easy retrieval. Feedback from our customers has been only positive with respect to this line.
