| Speedbor® Short Paddle Bits by IRWIN are the premier wood boring "spade bit" currently on the market. The original 2000 Series is best known for the patented side spurs (which result in a smoother hole finish and less chipping). The NEW for 2021 Speedbor features New Chamfered Cutting Edges for faster cutting speed and longevity. The manufacturer is has incorporated quick change Lock-N-Load hex shanks that will allow the user to snap the bit in-and-out of a quick change power bit holder with ease. Extension is recommended for bits with a diameter of at least 5/8" for proper follow through. These short paddle bits are 6" in overall length. |

NOTE: The Speedbor Paddle Bits had a design change for 2021. It has now has new Chamfered Cutting Edges which is completely didfferent from the Speedbor 2000 design. It has some advantages such as cutting speed, though does not make a scoring line when cuting surfaces where chipping may be an issue. Personal user preference will determine your best fit. We will be trying to note and update as sizes change over to the new style. If you prefer the original Speedbor 2000 design with the anti-chip scoring tips, see our X-Series Paddle Bits. |
